The Rail Hotel will be unavailable for overnight stays from October 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027, while the Galveston Railroad Museum prepares for and hosts THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. Reservations are available through October 9 and resume January 11, 2027.

“Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to sleep on a train back in the good old days? Well, you can do exactly that at the Galveston Railroad Museum’s Rail Hotel. My family and I spent the night in the historic Bonnie Brook railcar, a 1949 rail coach once used by Jackie Gleeson. The car has been renovated to serve as a private suite, allowing guests to eat, sleep, and dine like passengers did during the golden era of railroads. Along with modern amenities like Wi-Fi and a widescreen television, our suite also included complimentary bottled water, a basket of muffins prepared by a local bakery, and a bag of saltwater taffy provided by a local confectionery. Best of all, the museum was within walking distance of downtown, providing easy access to local shops, restaurants, and the cruise terminal. My family and I only needed to wake up and walk to our cruise ship. If you have always dreamed of sleeping on a train, this suite is perfect for you and your family.”
