Last Call for Harborside Express

Last Call for The Harborside Express

GALVESTON, TX – The Galveston Railroad Museum, 2602 Santa Fe Place, urges railfans to jump on  board the Harborside Express for the last rides for 2022. The train will run October 9, 15 & 16, before  pausing to accommodate The Polar Express Train Ride that begins November 11. The train rides will  resume in January 2023.

The Harborside Express offers the opportunity for kids of all ages to experience the excitement of a  train ride. The whistle blows for the 15- minute ride that departs the train depot throughout each day.  Tickets for the ride are $7 per person and may be purchased prior to boarding.

The Galveston Railroad Museum will be closed Saturday, October 8, to accommodate the Rail Baron’s  Ball. The gala will benefit the Arthur Carmody, Jr., Memorial Rail Library to be housed in a retrofitted  Amtrak baggage car. It will be business as usual on Sunday, October 9.

THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride opens November 11 and will run through December 23, 2022. Tickets are  now available online. The adventure comes to life when the train departs for a round-trip journey to the  North Pole led by a cast of talented actors. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers  will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ for a one-hour  trip to meet Santa. Once on board, the conductor will work his way through the coach and punch golden  tickets before hot chocolate and a delicious cookie are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read  along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg. Santa and his helpers board  the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas. During the trip, characters  on each car lead onboard entertainment – just like in the film! Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh  bell and souvenir golden ticket in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip. Just like  the kids in the book, families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride! Commemorative  merchandise is available year- round in the Museum store.
