Greeter: Welcome visitors to the Museum, answer questions and provide information.
Train Crew: Be a part of operating the Harborside Express on Saturdays, special events, and occasional weekday runs. Train There are also opportunities for switching cars in the yard. After 6 months of volunteering, Train Crew are eligible to take the Museum’s Locomotive Engineer class
Engineers: Are you a former railroader that misses running a locomotive? Come volunteer at the Museum and operate our GE1983 80-tonner. This position requires a day long certification class.
Docent: Guide visitors for tours of the Museum.
Special Events Volunteer: Welcome and provide information to guests, or perform important behind the scenes work preparing for conferences, birthday parties, and more.
Donation Policy
The museum is always on the lookout for train history. Donations are vital to the continued preservation and restoration of railroading artifacts. If you have an donation that you would like to make to the museum or think we might be interested in, please read the Donation Policy below.
