GALVESTON RAILROAD MUSEUM TO HOST BATTLESHIP TEXAS PRESENTATION

GALVESTON, TX – The Galveston Railroad Museum will host a presentation on the Battleship
Texas on Saturday, January 27, 3 pm, 2602 Santa Fe Place. The presentation is free with museum
admission. Galveston Museum Day admission is 2 for 1, January 27 – 28, 2024.

Traveling on a City at Sea: The Story of the Battleship Texas, an exhibit sponsored by
Humanities Texas, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Moody Bank, Dr. John Bertini and Bill Mattson, has
been extended. A record number of visitors have viewed the exhibit since its opening in May.

Travis Davis, Vice President of Ship Operations for the Battleship Texas Foundation, will speak on
Saturday, January 27, 3 pm, in the auditorium the Galveston Railroad Museum on the ships’
restoration and future plans. Davis leads the operations and preservation of the National
Historic Landmark Battleship TEXAS. A key figure in getting the ship ready for the successful tow
to Galveston and the repairs the ship is currently undergoing, management of the restoration of
the ship guns, and planning the revitalization of the ship as a museum for the people of the
State of Texas.

The presentation offers the opportunity to learn about the legendary warship’s extensive
renovation currently underway at Gulf Copper Ship Repair and to ask questions about her
history and future.

Museum Admission, a benefit of membership, is Adults $12, Seniors & Students, $9, Kids $6,
Under 4 free. Galveston Museum Day Admission is 2 for 1, January 27 & 28. Located at 2602
